Sunset

I think it's obvious by now, that I love Colorado.

I love the nature.

I love the mountains.

I love the altitude.

I love the flag.

One of the things that consistently amazes me, are the sunsets.

The hills and valleys of the mountains, accented by the day's last light.

The glowing ridges of the peaks.

The psychedelic colors that fill the sky.

The blindingly silver highlights on the clouds.

All of it enhanced and embraced by the sounds of the local aviary skybound companions of the Earth in a glorious, peaceful cacophony of nature's most awesome sights and sounds.

A daily celebration of light and beauty, gifted to anyone lucky enough to partake.

The benefits of living in Denver.

To find peace

I need only look West

And feel the call to nature.

Escape to higher ground

With fewer people

And less stress.

No more assholes.

No more car horns.

No more city noise.

A short journey

Into the heart of beauty

And a view that only Gods were meant to see.

Snow in July

Beat the heat

With a snowball fight.

No more pain

No more confusion

A mental 'reset' button.

An ascendance to solitude

Makes the mind

Feel refreshed and inspired.

Gifts to Loved Ones

I'm a big fan of actually MAKING gifts that I give to people.  Often, if it's a gift that I don't actually make, it's a gift that one can make something WITH (tools, musical instruments, clay, legos, cooking stuff, etc).  The reason is, I think gifts should be "personal", so I try to give things that are either directly "personal", or things that people can use to express their identity and talents.
