Art in the Digital Age, v1

 

When I'm working, I often think back to my childhood, watching Bob Ross on "Joy of Painting"... I remember his techniques and depictions of them vividly; as I'm sure many of you do, as well...

"... and then, we're just going to tap, tap, tap with the brush..."

"...we're just going to put paint right on our knife and just scrape it down..."

"... and then, we're gonna carve out little places, where maybe the happy little trees are going to live..."

Usually, these memories cross my mind when I realize that in my work, I utilize many of the same techniques and thought processes as the great Bob Ross; they're just performed differently, though the effect that they are used to create transfers over in the same way...

I miss Bob...
